24/7

I am bored to death. Doing same things again and again. Day after day. Day in and day out. As they say 24/7. It’s a torturous existence. If this is what they call highest form of life, I think it’s better not to have it.

Wake up in the morning, brush your teeth, go to toilet, take bath. It’s boring man. Why do you need to brush your teeth every morning, 365 days a year? Just to prevent some bad smell and because your teeth appears white? I don’t think there is any other reason why people brush their teeth besides that. Taking bath everyday. Why? You feel fresh and if you use a soap to clean your body, it will not smell. Then there is that greatest drama -- eating and shitting. What’s the use? Why do you need to eat everyday? Just to keep your body functioning. And to do what? That boring routine stuff again and again. Is there any meaning?

Wash your cloths every week and iron it. Repeat the same thing every weekend. Go to office every week, repeat the same foolishness everyday. Crack those same boring jokes again and again and pretend that you are enjoying the process. In your heart, you know that it’s meaningless. Your job is useless. The only thing you want is the salary you get at the end of every month. And what do you do from that money? Repeat the same boring things again and again. Buy new cloths (which will become old after few months), buy a new cell phone or a video game, buy a car, buy some more junk stocks, drink liquor, go to pubs, go to discotheques, watch those silly movies with your girlfriends. And still at the end of it all, life remains as boring as ever.

Somebody will read books, listen to music, remain active in those silly social networking sites, claim to do yoga. But, they are also as miserable as the other regular types, who live their boring life.

Every week, make phone calls to your loved ones and get assured that they are still alive. What’s the point? They will call you to find out the same. Does it make any difference whether you remain alive or not? Even when you are dead, only a few people will miss you, if at all. That too maximum for 12 days. Then they will say the “the show must go on”. And what’s that show? Eating and shitting, taking bath, brushing teeth, going to office, going to pub, buying a new gizmo, playing a new video game, sex, music, games….

  2. Mitra,

The one who knows suffers. I know that life is futile. But, I don't know how to get rid of it. It seems I am not ready yet.

  3. I don't know whether it is futile or not but it surely is miserable, as Buddha said. And during this time of the year in India it is more miserable, especially during hot summers. May be this is what provoked Buddha for the search of real peace and enlightenment. India is the last destination and that is why may be so lot of people here are in search of their real self. They are not doing that because they want to achieve some thing or know themselves but they are on the path just because they want to get rid of the horrible summers in India. Few cowards left India, lower their consciousness and go to more cooler places.

Buy an Air conditioner my friend. It is going to solve 99.99% or your 24/7 problems and miseries.

  4. Oh 20 box. I never expected this from you. An AC can't solve problems of this eternal soul. It can only please this fragile body. Your comments hurts. I know you are facing terrible heat in our beloved Phursatgunj. But, let me tell you this. I am ready to face that heat 1000 times than work in Mumbai. Yo don't know what it is. It's not just physically painful and mentally torturous. It's like living without a soul. Dead man walking, as they say. You are blessed my dear friend. You are losing your physical vitality, your mind is becoming erratic with each passing moment, but your soul is still intact. And that's what counts at the end. I admire your strength. I think only you deserve enlightenment among people I know.

  5. But your problem is not of eternal soul, it is of the hardships of working in mumbai. And this hard life in mumbai takes its toll on your fragile body too, so AC can give you some relief atleast. I know that if you doing the same work from Phursatgunj you don't even need a table fan to be happy.
